Troikas cycling to work

Slovenian Climate Advocates introduced a competition to encourage employees to use bicycles instead of cars to get to work and in turn reduce CO2 emissions.

The aim was to get people to cycle to work every day for a month in order to promote the health and environmental advantages of leaving their car at home. Employees could group together in teams of three and were awarded points for each day a group member cycled to work; if they used their car they would lose points. At the end of the month if the overall result for the group was positive they were entered into a prize draw. Over two hundred teams entered the competition, and all but three of these recorded a positive result. The competion will continue to run under the Ministry of Transport.
