Serhiy Artemenko

Sergey Artemenko, 29, PhD (Chemical Engineering, Odessa State Academy of Refrigeration, 2004), 6-year working experience in project management and research with relevant skills and competencies developed during his long-term internships and trainings in Europe.
At present Sergiy works for the Program Agency of Odessa City Development in the areas of sustainable development, energy efficiency and ecology. His main areas of expertise are technology, market and policy issues, renewable energy, sustainable development as well as science research into thermodynamics.
Inna Datsyuk

Inna Datsyuk, 21, the student of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, will get her Bachelor Degree in Ecology and Environmental Science in 2008.
At present Inna is the PR-group coordinator of the students’ Ecoclub Green Wave of the Environmental University, the project coordinator at NGO Youth Environmental Centre, working on the logistics of the First Annual Congress of Ecoclubs in Ukraine.
Inna believes that happiness is not a destination, but the way one travels. Main passions and hobbies: wild nature, communications and travel.
Victoria Elkhova

Victoria Elhova, 24, MA in Psychology, Kyiv International University. Victoria has been actively engaged in environment protection activities for about 9 years working for various NGOs: Center of Social Services for Youth, UkrUNEPcom, Unicus, Eco Ligue, MAMA-86. Till 2006 Vika was the Youth Programme Co-ordinator of International Eco-Ethics Union (Sevastopol branch) www.eeiu.org
Vica is keen on social ecology and eco-ethics. Her main life goal – making everything possible to resolve the challenge of global warming and ensuring environmentalism becomes popular and fashionable among young Ukrainians.
Apart from environmental activities, Victoria likes traveling to wild nature spots, practices yoga and meditation, and is a fan of electronic and ethnic music open-air festivals.
Olexandr Hnatyshyn

Sasha Hnatyshyn, 22, the third-year student of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy specializing in Ecology and Environmental Studies, is the junior analyst of the Point Carbon Company responsible for carbon market analysis and reporting. As a member of the students’ environmental organization Ecoclub Green Wave www.ecoclub.kiev.ua Sasha coordinates the waste recycling project and climate change group taking part in many actions, e.g. The Earth Day (2006, 2007, 2008), The Water Day (2006, 2007).
Personal interests include climate change and Kyoto Protocol studies, sports, especially football, volleyball and skiing, and travelling.
Anatoliy Kyrylyuk

Anatoliy Kyrylyuk, 21, the student of Kyiv Institute of Humanities, is the Co-ordinator of the International Relations of the non-profit organization Student Euro-Atlantic Forum of Ukraine (a member of Ukraine-NATO Civic League.
In 2007 Anatoliy, as the winner of the International Contest in Norwegian Language, went to study for one year at the Norwegian Academy of Humanities Nansenskolen and it was there that his attitudes towards the environment problems changed. During the year in Norway he learned a lot about modern European environmental protection policies and observed the Norwegian system in action. Now Anatoliy wants to share his knowledge and ideas through this project in Ukraine.
His hobbies are music, learning languages, politics, but his real passion is football.
Svetlana Leonova

Svitlana Leonova, 21, Degree in Law, Donetsk National University (in the East of Ukraine), has had nothing to do with ecological issues and never participated in ecological programs/projects until recently.
But being a responsible person Svitlana realizes that what is going on on our planet is scaring and destructive; that day after day, step by step people destroy it, its nature and climate. Someone has to stop it and/or set a positive example of saving energy and minimizing carbon emissions. That is her motivation for participate in this project and that is why you see her picture on this website.
And though Svitlana has no special education or experience on the issues concerned, her 3-year experience of public work as the Head of local and all-Ukrainian youth organizations and her expertise in project planning and management, and fundraising could be beneficial for the project.
Svitlana’s dream is a safe and beautiful planet for her children.
Yuliya Mcluck

21 years old, is a Bachelor of virology and a practicing journalist. She has an experience in organizing street demonstrations and promo-actions as a member of students' volunteer nature protection squad and guiding ecological excursions. Yuliya is to enter the Master program of ecology this year and then to continue her environmental education abroad. Fields of her professinal interests are biology, nature preservation and energy efficiency.
Olena Noda

Olena Noda, 23, MA in Ecology/Environmental Protection, works for her Law degree at the Yaroslav Mudryy National Law Academy of Ukraine and has her practice as a legal adviser.
Olena aims at make positive change happen and leads the NGO Eco-Land (Kharkiv) that specializes in organizing the Earth Days and other activities concerning environmental protection.
She loves to be outdoors, dancing, drawing, swimming and practicing yoga. Her life motto - “Never give up your dream! Never stop where you are! Do not just exist - live!”
Yuliya Ogarenko

Yuliya Ogarenko, 22, the student of the MSc Programme in Ecology and Environmental Protection of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, is interested in environmental policy and management, climate change, sustainable development, and eco art.
Yuliya is the Junior Analyst of the Point Carbon company (part-time) and the Head of the Student Environmental Organization Ecoclub Green Wave.
Yuliya gained valuable experience during her internship at the Department of Meeting the Requirements of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine.
Her free time Yuliya spends either traveling or working at the Art studio of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.

Julia Panfilova

Yuliya Panfilova, 24, a biologist by education, works for the ecological organization Sustainable Development Centre “Roza Vetrov” in Donetsk, the eastern coal-mining area of Ukraine.
Her areas of interest are as diverse as working with children, writing for media and computer design. Yulya would like to be remembered as a fighter for justice, human rights (clean environment in particular) and animals’ rights.
Alexey Ryabchin

Alexey Ryabchin, 25, MA in International Economy, Donetsk National University, teaches students. At present he does his PhD research on the influence of Kyoto protocol on the economy of Ukraine.
Alexey is the senior economist at PromEconomService corporation, which deals with scientific and technical development and introduction of new energy-saving and nature-conservative technologies. He is responsible for activities related to Kyoto protocol, financial analytics, business planning, marketing and PR.
Alexey is crazy about football, the fan of “Shakhtyor Donetsk” team. He plays the piano and guitar, and is interested in psychology.
Olena Samsonenko

Olena Samsonenko, 23, is the specialist in Ecology and Environmental Protection at the oil supply company Galnaftogaz in Lviv, western Ukraine. Her achievement is the development and introduction of the integrated system of management - ISO environmental standards - at her company.
She is the co-ordinator of the project «I Am a Volunteer» of the charity fund Wings of Hope and the deputy head of the All-Ukrainian environmental league in Lviv region.
Olena attended the international training course on Waste Management at the Royal Technical University (Stockholm, Sweden) and had an opportunity to gain first-hand experience ranging from the issues of the population awareness on ecological problems and the national legislation on the subject to the various innovations in the field.
Stanislav Suprunenko

Stanislav Suprunenko, 28, has an international and Ukrainian educational background in the field of Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development. Currently he is the Head of the Environmental Department of the consulting and engineering company CFI “Tebodin Ukraine”.
He was involved in and/or managed more than 30 projects in Ukraine and Russia within the following areas of expertise: Environmental Due Diligence/Audits, Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainable Development, Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Management System (EMAS, ISO 14001:2004) and Environmental licensing.
Stanislav is also actively involved in various social and educational programs and organised a number of projects for schools and an orphanage. He is the trainer at the International Educational Young Master’s Program for children Sustainable Development and Peace. He is also an external expert on educational issues at the Water Informational Centre.
Alexandra Taran

Alexandra Taran, 23, the graduate of Kyiv National Linguistic University (2006), works as an assistant in the office department of Colliers International, the real estate consulting company.
Alexandra worked in Germany for one year to improve her German language skills and learn German culture. Her interests include learning foreign languages and other cultures, travelling, reading, sports, and social activities.
Andriy Tsybulko

Andriy Tsybulko is 33. He is the legal adviser specialising in the Civil, Agricultural and Land Law. He also has some experience in law drafting. Andriy has over 3 years working experience at Vinnytsia Dairy project, located in central Ukraine. He believes that misallocation of the resources is the most regrettable thing that now happens in Ukraine. Through the participation in the project he hopes to bring in the best European experiences in the life style of Ukrainians.
Taras Voitovych

Taras Voitovych, 24 y.o. graduated from the Lviv Polytechnic National University, specializing in social informatics. Now working as engineer in IT field. Active member of local NGO that popularise bicycle and Eco tourism. Taras likes to use his bicycle everywhere and has negotiated installation of bicycle parking places near his university.
Andriy Zhelezny

Andriy Zheliezniy is 20 y.o. He is a student of master degree in the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. Andriy has been involved in ecological projects from the school and for many years volunteered for ecological organizations. Now he is an activist of the National Ecological Center of Ukraine. He is interested in everything new and positive. He likes “green” tourism and travel with the tent to the seaside of Crimea and Carpathian mountains. Andrey says: “My generation is put before a lot of ecological and social problems. We should not turn away from any of them and we should to everything possible to change the situation and never give up.”
Svitlana Surodina

Svitlana Surodina is 26 y.o. She is a Digital Media and Advertising specialist currently working with Media Contacts, MPG located in London, UK. She has organised and headed several charitable projects, including fundraising and awareness activities for UNICEF. Svitlana has graduated from Leeds University Business School in 2005 with MSc in International Marketing Management. She really hopes to make contribution into the project having direct access to the British experience.

Thalia Bogdanou - She first developed an interest in climate change during her studies in the School of Forestry in Greece. After completing an MSc in Environmental protection and management she was introduced to the exciting world of waste management and energy efficiency. She has just completed a collaboration with an environmental consultancy in the UK and currently volunteers with the Edinburgh Community Backgreens Association, a small organisation that tries to improve the environmental sustainability of households. She believes that people can change attitude towards climate change when they can see and understand the impact of their actions on the environment and is looking forward to negotiating ideas with local authorities and policy makers in Greece.
