Name: Mantas Lesauskas
Age: 25
Background: Mantas holds an MA in Design from Vilnius Art Academy and has worked on various modern art projects in Holland, South Africa, Switzerland and Lithuania. Mantas is a member of Milegomme and Refunc artist groups and also enjoys working as an interior designer. He is an ambitious artist and wants to make the world a better place to live in. Mantas thinks that currently the biggest concern in the developed world is useless consumerism.

Name: Rasa Alkauskaitė-Kokoškina
Age: 29
Background: Rasa has a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering and a master’s in business management. She has worked for more than five years as an Environmental Consultant, participating in various EU funded transport and infrastructure development projects, mostly assessing and reducing their impact on the environment where her main areas of expertise are in waste and water management and CO2 emissions. As an expert, she is also involved in the Leonardo da Vinci project and in the environmental professional education program.  Her motto is: “Though the course may sometimes change, all rivers reach the sea,” and she believes that really big dreams can come true.

Name: Renata Karpovič
Age: 25
Background: During her studies, Renata worked as an ayurvedic massage specialist, graduating this year with a Master’s of Science in Ecology. She notices the harmony and interdependency present in nature and thinks that the power given to the human race should be used to protect nature. Being a tolerant, friendly and outgoing person she thinks that she is a good listener and enjoys giving advice when people ask her. Her motto is: “what goes around comes around“.

Name: Aistė Samuilytė
Age: 27
Background: Aiste is a consultant on EU law and international law issues in the Supreme Court of Lithuania and last year she also lectured on European Environmental Law at Mykolas Romeris University.Aiste' s friends, collegues and family describe her as friendly, responsible, social and results oriented. She hopes that her experience at the European Law Students' Association as a team leader, her social skills and professional knowledge gained working at the Lithuanian Parliamnt will serve in implementing the Challenge Europe project.

Name: Žilvinas Šilėnas
Age: 27
Background: Since 2006, Žilvinas has worked as a policy analyst at the Lithuanian Free Market Institute, a well known think tank in Eastern Europe where his expertise is in the fields of energy, global trade and transport policies. Additionally, he worked as an adviser to the Lithuanian energy company LEO LT, and has taught IB and Economics at Siauliai Didzdvaris Gymnasium, where he once attended. Žilvinas holds a BA from Wesleyan University (Connecticut, USA) and an International Baccalaureate Diploma from United World College of the Atlantic (Wales, UK). He is interested in EU climate change policy and is an author of a number of press articles on the subject.

Name: Augusta Imbrasienė
Age: 25
Background: Augusta refused the stability of a conventional job and took a risk instead, starting her own business, Mur Mur Mur, making hand-made accessories.  She believes in her ideas, works hard to implement them and is proud to have achieved this. Many people consider her to be very bold! Augusta dislikes the apathy in society, especially when people ignore the environment. She enjoys communicating with people of different occupations, beliefs, ages and social environments and thinks that all the differences she meets in her life help to mould her active character.

Name: Gaja Bartusevičiūtė
Age: 28
Background: Gaja has a Master’s degree in International Communication from Vilnius University. She started off as a volunteer several years ago with the Lithuanian Youth Council (LiJOT), continued as the Head of International Relations at this organization and later became an Adviser to the President and Secretary General. This year Gaja was part of the newly elected Lithuanian president Dalia Grybaiskaitė‘s elections public relations team.

Name: Milda Celiešiūtė
Age: 25
Background: Milda is a journalist with the weekly analytical magazine, Veidas. She holds a BAin Journalism from Vilnius University, is outgoing, hard working and excited about new things. Milda is also optimistic and curious and is looking forward to promoting sustainable development. She wants to learn what has been achieved and what more can be done to help people implement ideas and make the future more sustainable.

Name: Jurgita Raudonienė
Age: 34
Background: Jurgita graduated as a medical doctor but then decided to spice up her career by studying marketing. Jurgita‘s friends say that she is energetic, organized and cooperative; she has a vivid imagination and goes through life thinking that nothing is impossible. She participated in the public campaign against cervical cancer and is proud that it helped to save the lives of several women. She is concerned about the alienation between people and climate change and thinks that her generation should do something about it.

Challenge Europe Video

  • Maher Nasser, Director of the UN Information Service, invited Climate Advocates to submit their 'Jezersko Principles for Climate Action to the UN competition 'What would you say to to world leaders?' UK Climate Advocate Jane Burston responded to this request by recording a short video about most important principles from the Climate Camp: binding emissions targets, an alternative to GDP, a fair deal for developing countries and accountability for delivering on agreements made at Copenhagen.
