Her ambition is to see the state of the world today, in its economic and environmental crisis, as an opportunity to re-think our way of life and our relationship with nature. Given that traffic is the no one source of pollution in Slovenia, she sees cycling as one of the simplest and most economically acceptable solutions. Being a social scientist she can help focus the team on the importance of building an informed and active public. She wants people to realize that small steps and even seemingly insignificant life-style changes can make a big difference.

Kateřina Kolská - Katka studies Environmental Economics and administration at the University of Economics in Prague. She is an active member of Oikos Prague, a student organisation for sustainable economics and management. Katka thinks that there is great potential for change in the Czech Republic and is interested in raising climate change awareness and in the possibilities of improving the condition of the environment that are present to all in their everyday lives.  Friends find Katka caring, responsible, smart and strong-willed, with good common sense and ability to bring people together.

Challenge Europe Video

  • Maher Nasser, Director of the UN Information Service, invited Climate Advocates to submit their 'Jezersko Principles for Climate Action to the UN competition 'What would you say to to world leaders?' UK Climate Advocate Jane Burston responded to this request by recording a short video about most important principles from the Climate Camp: binding emissions targets, an alternative to GDP, a fair deal for developing countries and accountability for delivering on agreements made at Copenhagen.
