Matúš Hríbik is a graduate from the Technical University in Zvolen, Faculty of Forestry. He completed his PhD degree in 2008 and works at the Department of Natural Environment at his Alma Mater. He deals with snow as a phenomenon and studies the impact of global warming on snow conditions. In addition to his research work he is also involved in teaching Climatology, Meteorology and Hydrology. For more than 150 days in a year you can find him in the mountains, often with his pair of skis. He was born in a small place called Telgárt in the Low Tatras and wishes to live there till the end of his days. Matúš loves diversity in all its forms and would like to preserve it. He is worried by the impacts of climate change and would like to do all he can in order to reduce its negative implications. His hobbies are ski alpinism, mountain climbing and trekking.
