Sound bites from the Hungarian team PDF Print E-mail

The Hungarian Climate advocates’ team won three medals (two gold and one bronze) in all categories of the competition organised by a Hungarian non-profit organisation to raise awareness about climate change. This was the first event of such kind in Hungary and was also well accepted by the public.

They won the first prize in the category of scale-modelling in which they had to make an installation that expresses important climate issues and in the category of team photo competition. They won a third prize in the climate song category for the song they wrote and also performed. To listen to the song please follow the link: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=EXAYRm2yP8c (song presented by Andrea Joós. Sorry, Hungarian knowledge needed)

The advocates thought participating in the competition was very important for them not just as a contribution to awareness-raising campaigns but also to participate at side events organised for the occasion on which many different interest groups presented their work and ideas. That was also a good opportunity for them to network with other groups and organisations interested in climate change.

Hungarian Climate advocates designing a zero carbon Climate Office

One of the challenges the Hungarian team is working on is to open a zero carbon climate office at Szent Istvan University in Godollo. The team of Climate advocates is producing all plans, including design, building reconstruction and refurbishing.

Slovenian Climate Advocates introduced a competition to encourage employees to use bicycles instead of cars to get to work and in turn reduce CO2 emissions.
