The first public meeting of Slovak Climate Advocates took place on 24 October 2008 in Poprad at the Aqua City. The advocates presented their ideas to an invited audience of experts in science, business, NGOs and general public. The audience challenged the presented proposals and the Advocates will consider their feedback when finalising their challenges and how to best take them forward over the next six months. During the workshop they also held a videoconference with the Great Britain Climate Advocate team, during which they exchanged views on the challenges and demonstrated how ideas can be exchanged across Europe in a low carbon way. The workshop coincided with the occasion of the State Visit of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh to Slovakia, making it a truly special and remarkable event.
