Quotes from the advocates

“The support of the British Council is uniquely beneficial in bringing people from different backgrounds together to collaborate on an issue. Being a Low Carbon Futures / Challenge Europe Advocate has been rewarding because of the networking opportunities. The projects we are developing will enable a shift in low carbon living for mainstream society.”

“I have enjoyed my time working on the Challenge Europe programme. I have learned a lot about the British Council and what they do. Meeting and working with a diverse range of individuals has been a great experience and I’ve made some great contacts and friends. In terms of the projects, I feel they will make a difference and help promote the need for change.”

“I applied to the project to meet other interested people and to re-motivate myself on the subject of Climate Change after realising that I had lost the spark that got me interested and involved in the field of sustainability originally. Being an Advocate has certainly achieved that. I have met fantastic people, re-energised my interest and committed to undertake practical action to help others reduce their impact on the climate.”

Project Better Place developed from the realisation that vehicle emissions accounted for a growing portion of the world’s carbon footprint and the changing climate and diminishing supplies of fossil fuels required a major shift to low emission vehicles.
